So here we are, 5 days after the inauguration and I am sure you can tell it’s messy! Many are wondering what happens next; how do we survive? Is it just the political world? Are men as concerned as women? What happens to the businesses and the entrepreneurs? So many questions- yet only a few answers..
I have many thoughts, but only a few that count. One thing that I’ve learned throughout this period of time is that the nation is at its highest division rate than anytime before. When President Obama ran and became an elected official to serve as our nations leader the outcry was evident. I’m sure you remember as you now see what has happened. So her we are again, divided, angered, outraged and portraying distinct unity where it seems to matter. Women quality. Stand up! Shout! Let them know we’re right! Although, it’s magical it sends a message that I fear we’ve missed. Of course, I am deeply saddened that the President has made certain comments, has certain beliefs, and has demonstrated a certain level of character I may not agree it. However, my responsibility as a person of faith is to pray and hope for the best! As we move forward in the years to come here’s dome perspective.
1. Hope that he wins! We want a peaceful next few years. There’s no use in saying “I told you so” because once this is over our lives are impacted – his life goes on.
2. Don’t spend your time or energy debating something that you can’t change. For the next four years – this is the commander in chief. Regardless if you accept or title him “Your President” he is just that.
3. Spend more time embracing positivity than being negative. This election will ultimately reveal the heart of the nation. It may be brutal, it may be unpleasant, it may force you to grow know that it’s okay! Truthfully, it’s okay.
4. We’ve been here before. This isn’t the first time America has been disappointed in an election. This isn’t the first time we’ve been placed in a position where we have had to get with it. My council is – get with it. Educate yourself. Find out what you can do to help. How can you be an example? Think about what position you want to defend. Is it love or hate? That’s what it comes down to!
Listen, above all this may not be your cup of tea but spending time brewing something that has already been brewed is nasty! Find a way to doctor your cup up, drink it, and move forward with your greatness! It may not make sense now – but at some point is always does. Things have their own way of working out – so trust the process, believe in your nation, city, leaders, and country! Do what you can to be an influencer and stay strong! Be positive and know that HE is still the same, today, and yesterday. New President – Same God! all is well!
